an attempt at romance in a pandemic

My messaging rapport with this one girl has not been up to par with what I am used to. It’s been hot and cold. I am pretty comfortable with my ability to generate a connection using text messaging — more so than voice or video calls, actually. What is keeping me hopeful is that, during the few times we have met in person, the chemistry was definitely there: we were both engaged and there were no lulls in our conversation. However, the rising cases (and anxiety!) have meant that we might not be able to meet face-to-face for a long time. Without boring anyone with more context, certain factors have prevented me from asking her if she’d be interested in more than a friendship.

I am currently contemplating whether to remain open to the more responsive potential partners or to persevere with one that has been sending mixed signals if any at all.
